Role Overview
As an Analyst, Energy Marketing & Trading, you’ll be integral to supporting asset market and trading activities, providing critical analysis for hedging and trading opportunities, and assisting with acquisition efforts. This is a high-impact role that combines market analysis, strategic thinking, and the opportunity to work on projects that shape the future of energy.
What You’ll Do
– Analyze short- and long-term trading opportunities across various commodity markets (Power, FTRs, emissions, natural gas, etc.)
– Oversee and collaborate with third-party teams managing commercial strategies for generating facilities
– Conduct in-depth market research to inform trade and hedge positions
– Develop hedging strategies to maximize profitability while managing risk
– Support acquisitions with asset valuation and revenue stream assessments
– Apply econometric and statistical analysis to large data sets for predictive insights
Who You Are
– You hold a Bachelor’s Degree and have at least 3 years of experience in trading, structuring, or analytical support within the power industry
– You have strong analytical skills and are proficient in programming languages (e.g., writing, editing code)
– You understand market dynamics and possess expertise in various trade capture and programming systems
– You have excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
– You’re a self-starter with a passion for innovation, teamwork, and solving complex energy challenges
