Viridan Group is partnered with a leading solar and energy storage project developer. The San Francisco-based team entered the market in 2014 and has since developed a multi-GW portfolio. As an IPP, they acquire, develop, own, and operate renewable energy assets across the US.
Their team seeks an Energy Storage Application Engineer / Manager. This position will support early-stage project activities, including RFP review, system sizing, supplier qualification, and technical design.
As the key technical intermediary, you’ll facilitate communication between the development team, clients, and service partners. Your role involves preparing technical documentation for proposals, defining project scope and specifications within energy storage applications, and coordinating bid packages across teams. Additionally, you’ll create sizing models and conceptual drawing sets to support project planning.
Responsibilities
- Function as the key technical intermediary between the development team, clients, and service partners.
- Prepare all technical documentation for proposals.
- Examine RFPs and other customer documentation to define project scope, schedule, specifications, and technical prerequisites within energy storage applications.
- Act as a resource for discussions around product specifications and value engineering
- Work cross-collaboratively with development, engineering, and procurement teams to coordinate bid packages.
- Create Sizing models and conceptual drawing sets (site layout, single-line diagrams, etc.)
Qualifications
- 4-5+ years of experience in applications, systems, project, and/or development engineering with utility-scale renewable energy systems
- Direct experience with utility-scale BESS is required
- Proficient in AutoCAD or related software
- Strong understanding of regulatory standards in the US related to grid-scale energy storage
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred
