Viridan Group is partnered with a Developer / IPP on the cutting edge of grid-scale renewable energy development. Their innovative team boasts a multi-GW operating portfolio, which includes some of the country’s most advanced standalone BESS and colocated solar + storage sites.

 

As Project Development Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of project development, including site origination, permitting, legal, project finance, grid connection, and due diligence. Leading a diverse team, you’ll establish a comprehensive development strategy and provide guidance on complex technical matters. You’ll manage 2 or 3 direct reports, promoting their growth, and elevate the team’s performance by fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Their team is actively searching for a Director of Development to lead the execution of projects in the Northeast and Midwest US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of Project Development, including site origination, permitting, legal, project finance, grid connection, and due diligence.
  • Lead the development team and a diverse group of subject matter experts assigned to each project.
  • Establish a comprehensive development strategy and ensure complete alignment on how the team will accomplish key project milestones.
  • Provide guidance on complex technical matters related to interconnection permitting, siting, commercial agreements, and policy.
  • Display sound leadership when challenges arise.
  • Manage 2 or 3 direct reports and promote their professional growth and development.
  • Elevate the overall performance of the regional development team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in renewable energy project development
  • Experience developing standalone storage or colocated solar and storage projects in the PJM or MISO region
  • 1+ years of experience managing a team of developers
  • Experience taking projects through the entire lifecycle from site origination to NTP
  • Strong understanding of PJM and MISO-specific permitting and interconnection guidelines and regulations
  • Familiar with various agreements related to siting, interconnection, off-take, and acquisitions

Location (Remote)

  • Preferably based east of the Mississippi
