We’re partnered with a global energy developer and operator with expertise in wind, hydro, and solar technologies. They have nearly 10,000 MW of owned capacity. As the leading wind generator in North America, they’re going through an expansion to keep up with demand.  

They are seeking a Development Manager to lead securing and delivering greenfield growth opportunities through strong stakeholder relationships and effective project management.  

This would serve as the primary representative until the transition to the construction execution group reporting to the Head of Development.  
 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Implement project strategy for the Eastern US region, aligned with Trina's investment goals. Conduct market research to identify business opportunities.

  • Plan and execute project origination, including greenfield and partnerships. Lead negotiations for acquisitions or partnership structures.

  • Articulate business case for new opportunities with a focus on risks, benefits, and returns. Present to senior management for investment approval.

  • Lead project development by coordinating internal and external teams. Ensure projects reach Ready for Construction status, covering site control, resource assessment, permitting, and economic analysis.

Qualifications

  • Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Legal, Science, or related field.

  • Brings 8+ years of senior-level experience in energy industry business and project development.

  • Demonstrates strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in identifying business opportunities and aligning them with key value drivers.

  • Possesses effective negotiation skills, excelling in matrix organization collaboration for sound project management. Additionally, has in-depth knowledge of the renewable power sector and a successful network within the industry.
